Hooray thank God we made it to January!
And yes, I'm already thinking about Black History Month approaching. I find myself reflecting not only on the significance of this season, but on the promise, I made to myself about the importance of preparation.
I've learned that in business, success rarely happens by accident because it’s built through intention, planning, and vision. This year, I’m committed to doing things differently. I’m choosing to move with purpose.
Black History Month is more than a moment for me. It’s an opportunity to amplify voices, celebrate culture, educate our communities, and create meaningful impact. For our company, it represents growth, collaboration, and storytelling that matters.
Our new theme for our Resilience in Fabric line will be released in a couple days and we have already begun booking author visits. Instead of rushing at the last minute, we’re busy planning ahead strategizing outreach, building partnerships, and preparing to launch exciting new projects.
I'm not an anxious person by any means, though last year I proved to myself that in entrepreneurship preparation creates confidence. When you think ahead, you move with clarity. You show up ready. You make space for opportunities instead of scrambling to catch them.
I’m especially excited about the potential partnerships on the horizon. Collaborating with schools, community organizations, and fellow creatives allows us to extend our reach and deepen our impact.
We’re also gearing up for the release of new books that continue our mission of representation, education, and empowerment for children. These stories are crafted with intention, one of which provides a positive and age-appropriate introduction to menstruation. I wanted to create a chapter book that promotes confidence, fosters communication while speak to a pre teen audience in a way that would relate to them.
Intention will continue to be my guide. From how I plan our launches, to how we build relationships, to how we serve our community because everything will be rooted in purpose.
Listen, I know that growth doesn’t happen overnight, but when you plant seeds early, you create space for something beautiful to bloom.
Black History Month reminds us of resilience, innovation, and legacy. As a business owner, I’m inspired to carry that same spirit into every decision I make.
As said by Madame C.J Walker... “Don’t sit down and wait for the opportunities to come. Get up and make them.”
FEBRUARY HERE I COME!
YOU WILL NOT DISAPPOINT.
