Feelings of Fall

Feelings of Fall

I’d be lying to you if I said this would be an easy blog to write. The tone in my previous entries have always been exciting and inspiring, though I wouldn’t be truthful if I wasn’t honest in saying that amidst the hustle and bustle of life it’s been a struggle to function most days, dare I say months.

I wouldn’t never wish death on anyone though losing a loved one is an unimaginable loss that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. It’s all apart of the seasons of life and yet still at times we find it difficult to navigate our way through the changing winds.

Having experienced loss 13 times this year has paid a serious toll on me mentally, and most days when I feel like pulling the covers over my head I’m reminded of my why.

Why did you start this company?

Why does your voice matter?

Why should you continue?

The questions will always come. It’s having the answers that will make the difference otherwise one would just quit.

This company was birthed out of me filling a gap. Not being able to find children’s literature to speak to my very own about loss. I made it possible by creating my first children’s picture book that speaks in that. It’s brought me many rewards and bridged many gaps for others. Well, here we are, crossing the same road again.

LOSS

If you’re a parent you know how it is….we keep going for the children.

I think most importantly, I and if your in the same boat as myself, WE HAVE TO KEEP GOING FOR OURSELVES FIRST.

I attribute it to the seasons of life. Change is good and at times it may not be welcomed, but it’s inevitable.

I’m also reminded that as a children’s author growth doesn’t happen overnight. It takes hard work and dedication, most importantly consistency.

This is where my weakness currently exists. My lack of posting regularly, uploading videos for our YouTube channel, replying to emails on time. This list goes on and on. Despite fullfilling the necessary requirements of the day, there is an underlying meloncoly feeling.

Finding various channels to combat this is essential. Therapy, vacation, being intentional about projects I take on and the BIG ONE, learning to say NO.

I’m reminded of one thing, my children are watching. How is she handling the pressure, the sadness, the constant motion of life. On this particular roller coaster I’m trying to be PRESENT, be grateful and thankful for my many accomplishments because not many can say that they’ve experienced what I have in the 5 years of running this company.

TAKE AWAY!

CHOOSE YOU

Children are ALWAYS WATCHING

LEARNING

DISCOVERING

CHANGING and becoming more confident in who they are every day.

Fall reminds me that change is not something to fear. Sometimes, letting go creates space for something new, beautiful and unexpected.

So, whether you’re a child, parent, educator or simply someone navigating a new season of life.

Please remember to give yourself permission to grow at your own pace.

For every season has something beautiful to offer.

Truthfully Yours,
